Whitby Town will welcome two players back to the squad

Whitby Town welcome York City to the Towbar Express Stadium at the Turnbull Ground in the North Riding Senior Cup this evening (19:45).

These two sides met at the same stage of the competition three years ago with the Blues running to 3-1 winners. They would later go on to win the competition at the Riverside Stadium, defeating Pickering Town.

The Minstermen currently sit second in the National League North and travel to the coast on the back of a 1-0 home victory over Kettering on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Hardy side on the other hand, fell to a 2-1 defeat to Warrington Town despite taking the lead early on in the second half.

In terms of team news Hardy will welcome defender, Kieran Weledji back to the side after he served his one-match ban at Cantilever Park at the weekend. There is also set to be a return for midfielder, Corey Roper who hasn't featured since the 2-0 victory over Hyde United on January 11th.

Missing out will be Bradley Mills and Bradley Fewster as they continue to recover from their injury lay-offs. Whitby Town can confirm that striker, Fewster has now returned to training with the side.

Looking ahead to the game, Chris Hardy had the following to say: "People are well aware that I've had some success in this competition and it's one that we can do well in but ultimately we've got to negotiate this tie against York. Hopefully we can put a performance in and get into the next round as we'll approach the game with a view of trying to progress and I'm sure York will be doing the same so it should make for a good game of football."

Admission at the Towbar Express Stadium at the Turnbull Ground is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for U18s, with U16s FREE (with a paying adult).

Turnbull's Bar will be open from 6pm, with the bar also remaining open following the conclusion of the match.
