Hickey available for selection at Matlock

Liam Ryder21 Feb 2020 - 17:00

Your match preview for our game with Matlock Town at the Proctor Cars Stadium

New signing Jordan Hickey will be available for selection in tomorrow's scheduled BetVictor Northern Premier game with Matlock Town at the Proctor Cars Stadium (3pm)

The midfielder began his career in Sunderland's youth setup before moving to the Hull City Academy in the summer of 2018.

Hickey may be called upon with Whitby short on numbers in his preferred area of the pitch over the next few games.

TEAM NEWS
Midfielder, Corey Roper is unavailable for selection at Matlock due to work commitments abroad.

Defender, Kieran Weledji will also miss out due to an injury that has seen him out of action for the two previous matches against Mickleover Sports and Stafford Rangers.

The Blues will also be without Bradley Mills who continues his injury lay-off that has seen him unable to feature for several weeks.

Striker, Greg Rutherford is set to be the final absentee in Derbyshire as he has picked up a fresh knock this week.

THOUGHTS OF CHRIS HARDY
"We've got a backlog of games but we expected this on the back of our FA Cup run. We're prepped for it so hopefully we can keep picking up points and pushing up the table. It's difficult to keep people fit as they're playing lots of minutes, often on soft and heavy pitches so muscles strains can be injuries that you've got to deal with at this time of the year. We've got a strong group so hopefully we can avoid these potential injuries."

MATCH INFORMATION
Admission at the Proctor Cars Stadium is £10 for adults, £6.50 for concessions, £5 for students, £3 for U18s, with U10s FREE.

If you are unable to make the journey, there will be LIVE commentary on Yorkshire Coast Radio Extra (Whitby) from kick-off.

A pitch inspection will be carried out in the morning, with the result due by 9:30am. Keep an eye on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the outcome.
