Gary Liddle

A defender with over 500 EFL appearances to his name, Liddle joined Whitby Town from Spennymoor Town in May 2024, initially in a playing capacity.The 6ft 1ins centre-back, who was originally part of Middlesbrough's youth set-up before being released in 2006, then established himself as a regular EFL defender at Hartlepool United.
Liddle continued his journey in the professional game with spells at clubs including Notts County, Bradford City, Chesterfield, Carlisle United and Walsall.
He joined South Shields on a permanent deal in 2022, playing a key role as the club sealed promotion to the National League North for the first time in its history.
In October 2024, Liddle was promoted in to the position of First Team and penned a new deal ahead of the 2025/26 campaign after guiding the Seasiders to Pitching In Northern Premier League survival.
