The 1926 Club was relaunched ahead of the 2026/27 campaign with one simple aim: to give supporters, local businesses and members of the wider Whitby community the opportunity to directly help strengthen the first-team playing squad.

The fund is used to support the management team in bringing additional players to the Towbar Express Stadium, including loan signings, on top of the weekly playing budget set by the club’s Board.

A new way to contribute
Following a suggestion made at August’s Supporters’ Club meeting, we’re pleased to confirm that supporters can now donate a custom amount directly to the 1926 Club through the Whitby Town website.

This gives fans even greater flexibility when deciding how they want to support the fund. Whether it’s £5, £10, £25, £50 or any other amount, every contribution helps.

There’s no requirement to make a regular commitment either. You can simply choose an amount that works for you and make a one-off contribution whenever you wish.

The club previously removed the official Direct Debit option for the 1926 Club, recognising that some supporters may prefer not to commit to a fixed regular payment. Supporters who do wish to contribute regularly can still arrange their own standing order or Direct Debit directly into the dedicated account.

Every contribution makes a difference
The response to the relaunch has already been fantastic, with £3,852.43 raised so far.

That total represents the generosity of people who want to play their part in helping Whitby Town compete as strongly as possible during the 2026/27 campaign.

And the beauty of the 1926 Club is that there’s no set way to get involved.

You could make a one-off donation, contribute regularly, or even set yourself a personal target based around events on the pitch - perhaps an amount for every Town goal, clean sheet or victory. It’s entirely up to you.

The fund is about giving supporters another way to have a tangible impact on the club they care about.
