£5,040 Raised for the 1926 Club in Just One Week
Whitby Town is delighted to announce that £5,040 has been raised for the 1926 Club over the last week.
The 1926 Club was established to provide additional support to the club’s management team when it comes to strengthening the playing squad. Funds raised are used to help bring additional players to the Towbar Express Stadium, including loan signings, on top of the weekly playing budget set by the club’s Board.
It is a fund that gives the management team additional flexibility when opportunities arise, helping the club to strengthen the squad while continuing to operate within its existing budget.
This week has seen an outstanding response from the Whitby Town community. A one-off donation of £5,000 was made through the club website by a supporter, representing an incredible contribution to the 1926 Club and providing a significant boost to the fund.
A further £40 was raised through a football card on Saturday’s Supporters’ Coach, as supporters travelled to Bridlington Town in the FA Trophy.
While the two contributions were very different in size, both demonstrate the willingness of Whitby Town supporters to play their part in supporting the club.
The 1926 Club relies entirely on the generosity of those who want to help provide the management team with additional resources. Whether it is a substantial one-off donation, a regular contribution, or money raised through initiatives such as the football card, every penny adds to the fund and can make a difference when an opportunity to strengthen the squad presents itself.
To have £5,040 raised in just one week is a fantastic achievement, and the club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed.
