The 33-year-old midfielder signed for his former club just this summer, linking up with former Whitby Town boss Chris Hardy in the process.

Prior to his spell with Bishop Auckland, Gell spent a season-and-a-half back with the Seasiders after returning from Marske United.

Gell also turned out for Shildon and Guisborough Town in the past, in amongst three separate spells at the Towbar Express Stadium.

Over his various spells with Town, Gell has made just short of 300 appearances for the club.
