Bland returns as Whitby make three changes for Bamber Bridge trip

Liam Ryder21 Feb - 14:15

Whitby Town have made three changes to their starting line-up for today’s trip to Bamber Bridge in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.

Joint Managers Lee Bullock and Jason Kennedy have brought Shane Bland, Jake Charles and Nathan McGinley into the side for what is only the Seasiders’ third outing of February.

Goalkeeper Bland returns after missing the last three matches through injury, replacing Isaac Allan, who has gone back to Sunderland following the end of his loan spell.

In defence, McGinley comes into the starting XI after featuring off the bench in Tuesday night’s loss to Gainsborough Trinity. He lines up alongside Aaron Haswell, Connor Smith and Frankie Whelan, who all keep their places at the back.

In midfield, Lewis Hawkins edges closer to the 200-appearance mark for the club and is joined by Harley Dawson, who has scored twice since arriving from Pickering Town in the summer.

Out wide, Donald Chimalilo and Layton Watts are expected to provide the attacking width, while Jake Charles partners Matthew Tymon up front.

There’s also a boost on the bench, with Sam Collins returning to the matchday squad. The former Middlesbrough left-back is among the substitutes, alongside Ben Farrar, Jarrett Rivers, Michael Woods and goalkeeper Nick Cranston.
