The young midfielder joined the Seasiders in September and will now continue his spell at the Towbar Express Stadium, providing further options in the middle of the park as the club looks ahead to a busy October schedule.

James has been part of Middlesbrough's academy since Under-13 level, progressing through the club's youth system and gaining valuable experience along the way. His development has also seen him involved with England youth camps.

James enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 season with Middlesbrough's Under-18s, making more than 25 appearances before stepping up to feature in Premier League 2. He went on to gain further experience with the club's Under-21s and earned his first professional contract ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The extension gives James another month to continue his development in senior football while contributing to the Seasiders' efforts throughout the season.

Everyone at Whitby Town is pleased to have Daniel remaining with the club and looks forward to seeing him continue to make an impact.
