Lee Bullock Returns as Whitby Town Joint-Manager

Lee Bullock Returns as Whitby Town Joint-Manager

Liam Ryder10 Feb - 12:30

Whitby Town Football Club is delighted to confirm the return of Lee Bullock, who will take up the role of Joint-Manager alongside Jason Kennedy.

Bullock is a familiar and highly respected figure at the Towbar Express Stadium, with a long-standing association with the club both as a player and as part of the management team. His return brings added stability and continuity as the club looks ahead to the remainder of the season.

Bullock began his playing career with York City and went on to enjoy a professional career spanning from 1998 to 2013, with spells at clubs including Cardiff City, Hartlepool United and Bradford City. He signed for Whitby Town in July 2013 and quickly became a key figure on the pitch, before transitioning into coaching and management roles at the club.

After serving as Assistant Manager under Chris Hardy, Bullock was appointed Joint-Manager in 2020 alongside Nathan Haslam. He resigned from the role in September 2022, having overseen a sustained period of development and commitment within the First Team setup.

Since departing Whitby Town, Bullock has formed part of the successful promotion-winning management team at Redcar Athletic alongside Carl Jarrett and David McTiernan. During that time, he has contributed to the club’s progress in the Northern League, now leaving the Steelmen top of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One East and further enhancing his managerial experience.

Jason Kennedy will remain at the club and continue in his role as Joint-Manager, partnering Bullock as the management team is restructured following the recent departure of Gary Liddle to Hartlepool United after Saturday’s draw at Hednesford Town. Kennedy’s continued presence ensures valuable continuity within the squad and the club’s wider footballing structure.

Bullock and Kennedy will now work together as Joint-Managers for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

On his return to the Towbar Express Stadium, Bullock said: "The second the opportunity came around to come back, it was an easy decision. The majority of the lads I know, but even the ones I don't know personally, I've seen enough of when training at the same venue with Redcar.

"I'll give one hundred percent for as long as I'm back here. We've had some great times before, and we'll work hard to get good results and make people happy."

Everyone at Whitby Town welcomes Lee back to the Towbar Express Stadium and we wish both managers every success in their roles.
