Match Preview | Gainsborough Trinity (H)

Liam Ryder16 Feb - 16:30

Town return to the Towbar Express Stadium this Tuesday night as we host Gainsborough Trinity in the Pitching In NPL (7:45pm kick-off).

With just five league fixtures played so far in 2026, Whitby Town are playing catch-up in the Northern Premier League schedule. The Seasiders currently have four games in hand on Prescot Cables, who sit one place above in the table.

The trip to Hednesford Town on Saturday, 7th February saw Town produce a disciplined and determined defensive display to earn a hard-fought point. That preceded the postponement of the scheduled home fixture against Ashton United due to a waterlogged pitch.

Gainsborough were in action at the weekend and staged a remarkable comeback, recovering from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at home to Workington.

Tuesday night also marks a notable return to the dugout for joint-manager Lee Bullock against the side that brought an end to his previous spell in charge. A heavy 6-0 defeat in 2022 saw Bullock step down by his own accord.

The reverse fixture in September ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat for Town, adding further incentive ahead of this midweek encounter.
