Match Preview | Morpeth Town (A) | Monday 6th April

Liam Ryder4 Apr - 18:30

Whitby Town are back on the road for their second fixture of the Easter weekend, making the trip to Morpeth Town on Easter Monday (3pm kick-off).

The Seasiders head to Craik Park aiming to extend their strong recent record at the Northumberland venue, with the opportunity to make it four games unbeaten on their travels there.

Friday’s 3-1 defeat to FC United of Manchester saw Whitby undone by two late goals, as the visitors climbed to the top of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Attention now quickly turns to Monday’s test, with Town determined to respond positively. Morpeth come into the game following a 3-0 defeat at Lancaster City.

Managed by Craig Lynch, the Highwaymen currently sit 20th in the table, just one point adrift of safety. Whitby, meanwhile, will be looking to further increase the five-point cushion they hold over Prescot Cables, who occupy the final relegation place.

The reverse fixture on Boxing Day was decided before the break, with three first-half goals split between the sides seeing Morpeth claim a 2-1 victory.
