The Seasiders are teaming up with Whitby Food Bank once again to open the Towbar Express Stadium @ The Turnbull Ground as a donation point for their pre-Christmas fixtures.

With the festive period coming up, many families are sadly struggling to make ends meet. The need for food banks nationwide has increased, fuelled in no small part by the current economic climate.

With that, the Seasiders are looking to rally round and try to help those most in need in our area by setting up a Whitby Food Bank donation point for the next month at the Towbar Express Stadium.

Supporters who would like to make donations can do so in the club shop on match days for the next month. A full list of fixtures can be found below:

• Saturday, 18th November - Bamber Bridge
• Saturday, 25th November - Workington
• Tuesday, 5th December - Matlock Town
• Saturday, 9th December - Guiseley
• Tuesday, 12th December - Gainsborough Trinity
• Tuesday, 19th December - Stafford Rangers

However, opportunities to donate are not limited to just those two match days. If you're not able to make a match, but would like to donate anyway, you can pop into the Towbar Express Stadium any day through the week.

Currently, the items currently required most by the food bank in the run-up to Christmas are...

• Tinned cold meat/ham
• Tinned meat for heating/Fray Bentos/Hot Dogs etc.
• Tinned Fruit
• Tinned Tomatoes
• Tinned Vegetables
• Jar Pasta Sauce
• Dry Rice
• Biscuits
• Milk (long life or powder)
• Sugar
• Jam
• Soap, shower gel, shampoo
• Toothpaste
• Toilet roll
• Washing up liquid and washing powder
• AND lots of strong re-usable carrier bags

Whitby Town Football Club have pledged to match any donations made by supporters over the course of the next month, providing the Food Bank with double the goods this Christmas.
