Having joined the Seasiders this summer following a prolific spell with Boro Rangers, Rose has already made a strong impression both on and off the pitch. His leadership qualities, professionalism and winning mentality have stood out throughout pre-season, leading the management team to entrust him with the captain's armband for the campaign ahead.

Rose arrived at the Towbar Express Stadium with an outstanding goalscoring record and a reputation as one of the region's most effective forwards. His performances and attitude since joining the club have quickly earned the respect of teammates and staff alike.

Manager Lee Bullock said: "Stuart has settled into the group exceptionally well since arriving at the club. He leads by example every day, whether that's in training, on matchdays or around the dressing room. He has a strong character, high standards and a real desire to help drive the club forward. We believe he is the right person to captain Whitby Town this season and we're looking forward to seeing him lead the team."

Speaking after being informed of the decision, Rose expressed his pride at being given the responsibility.

"There are plenty of leaders within the dressing room so to be trusted with the armband means a lot," said Rose.

"I guess it's all about bringing everyone together and if I can help the younger lads on and off the pitch it's something that I'll take pride in."

The appointment marks another important step in preparations for the new Northern Premier League campaign, with Rose set to lead a squad that combines exciting new additions with a strong core of players determined to make their mark during 2026/27.
