Swales Leaves Coaching Role

Swales Leaves Coaching Role

Liam Ryder11 Aug 2024 - 11:30

Whitby Town can confirm that Stephen Swales will step down from his role as coach of the Whitby Town Under-18s after this weekend.

The Junior Seasiders will take part in the Seaside Super Cup on Sunday, with Swales taking the side for this before stepping aside.

The decision from Swales comes after receiving offers from other clubs.

Despite the club’s and the team’s disappointment that Stephen won’t be leading the club into the historic FA Youth Cup fixture at Penrith as planned, everyone at Whitby Town would like to thank Stephen for his hard work in running the team since its inception, and for his work in helping the club set it up. We wish him all the best for the future.

Further details around the management of the side will be confirmed in the coming days, ahead of the two Under-18 fixtures next week.

The Seasiders’ juniors will host Guisborough Town on Tuesday night in a friendly at the Towbar Express Stadium, before the FA Youth Cup Extra Preliminary Round match at Penrith on Friday night.
