Team news: McGinley starts in only change at Broadhurst Park

Liam Ryder19 Aug - 18:00

Nathan McGinley will return to the starting XI when the Seasiders face FC United of Manchester in the Pitching In NPL on Tuesday night.

Gary Liddle's side continue their 2025/26 campaign at Broadhurst Park and the Town boss has elected to field McGinley - who was rested for Saturday's 4-0 win against Warrington Town - at centre-back alongside Alex Nelson.

Connor Smith - making his 100th appearance for the club - Nelson, McGinley and Aaron Haswell form the visitors' backline in front of Shane Bland, with Adam Gell orchestrating the midfield in between captain Lewis Hawkins and Michael Woods just ahead.

Donald Chimalilo and Layton Watts will provide an offensive threat from the flanks, with Matthew Tymon expected to play down the middle of Town's attack.

Frankie Whelan, the one name to drop down to the bench from the weekend clash, could feature from the bench if called upon.

Fellow defender Sam Collins is also included, while Harley Dawson and Ronnie McGrath are the midfield backup.

James Harrison provides some depth in attack, should Liddle choose to call upon him at Broadhurst Park.
