Striker Sam joined from Pickering Town in August 2014 and returned to Pikes in January 2015. He is currently playing just up the coast at Staithes Athletic in the North Riding Football League Premier Division, the same level as Fishburn Park. In total, Sam made eight appearances, five from the bench and scored one goal for the Blues.
Daz Williams signed me from Pickering after a pre-season friendly against Whitby, I scored two that game. I really enjoyed playing for Whitby as it's my hometown. It was always good to play a home game as a lot of the local lads I knew came to watch the club.
I started well at Whitby with me getting man of the match in my first and second games for the club. I then scored the game after.
In terms of memorable matches, playing FC United at home was an experience that I enjoyed in the big crowd.
Shane Bland was always a good laugh on the team bus and I knocked about with Matty Brown, another local lad when I was there.
Sam's last campaign for Staithes saw him score an impressive 28 goals in 20 appearances, which is a record anyone would be proud of.
Would he like to return to Whitby Town in the future if given the chance?
I'd love to, but I'm not fit enough at the minute and I'd have to sort an arrangement with my employers if I did!
