Whitby Town Teams Up with Crossbar Challenge UK for the 2026/27 Season

Liam Ryder

Whitby Town is delighted to announce a new partnership with Crossbar Challenge UK ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The exciting initiative will bring a brand-new halftime entertainment experience to the Towbar Express Stadium, while also creating an additional revenue stream that directly benefits the club.

The Crossbar Challenge gives supporters the chance to test their accuracy in front of the crowd. Fans can enter via a simple QR code before or during matchday, with one participant drawn at half-time to take on the challenge. The chosen supporter will have three attempts from the penalty spot to strike the crossbar and claim a share of the prize pot.

Importantly, the initiative comes at no cost to the football club. Crossbar Challenge UK manages the platform, payments, administration and prize payouts, while Whitby Town receives a share of every entry sold.

The partnership is designed to enhance the matchday experience for supporters while generating valuable additional income that can be reinvested into the club. With home and away fans able to enter both at the ground and online ahead of fixtures, the challenge aims to create excitement before kick-off and provide a memorable halftime moment throughout the season.

Whitby Town Commercial Manager Jim Cairns said: "We're always looking for innovative ways to improve the matchday experience and create new opportunities to support the club financially.

"Crossbar Challenge UK offers both. It's a fun, engaging concept that gives supporters the chance to get involved and potentially win a fantastic prize, while also generating additional income for the club.

"We're excited to see it launch at the Towbar Express Stadium this season."

Supporters will be able to enter the Crossbar Challenge at all home fixtures during the 2026/27 campaign, with further details on launch dates and how to take part to be announced soon.
