Whitby Town to Pay Tribute to Lifelong Supporter Paul Rhea

Liam Ryder

Everyone at Whitby Town was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong supporter Paul Rhea, who died in July at the age of 40.

Paul was a familiar and much-loved face around the Towbar Express Stadium and Riverside Stadium for many years, following the Seasiders and Middlesbrough with great passion.

As a mark of respect ahead of his funeral, we will hold a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off at Saturday’s home fixture against Warrington Town. Members of Paul’s family will be in attendance at Saturday’s fixture and will join supporters, players and officials in remembering and celebrating Paul’s life ahead of kick-off.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences remain with Paul’s family, friends and everyone who knew him during this difficult time.

Paul’s funeral will take place on Monday 24 August, followed by refreshments in Turnbull’s Bar from 12pm. Those who knew Paul are warmly invited to attend and share memories as his family and friends come together to remember a devoted supporter and loved one.

Paul will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on at the Towbar Express Stadium and within the hearts of the Whitby Town community.
