Whitby Town/Middlesbrough College Under-19s have capped off a remarkable debut campaign by being crowned champions of the National Football Youth League Division One North East, finishing the season in style with a 3-0 victory over Bridlington Town Whites on the final day of the season this Wednesday.

In what was the first-ever season for the scholarship side, the group has delivered an outstanding year that has exceeded expectations.

Fin McKittrick was the star of the final afternoon, producing a superb hat-trick to fire Whitby to victory and confirm their place at the top of the table.

Across the league season, Whitby Town/Middlesbrough College Under-19s finished as deserved champions, recording 16 wins, 4 draws and just 2 defeats from 22 league matches, scoring an impressive 76 goals while conceding only 19, giving them a remarkable goal difference of 57 and a total of 52 points.

To achieve that in a first season together is a fantastic reflection of the standards, attitude and commitment shown by the young players from the very beginning.
