Whitby Town were back in action after a hat-trick of match postponements, and the return saw the Seasiders travel to Cumbria to face Workington.
The game saw the return of Jerome Greaves to the starting line-up, in place of Stephen Walker, while Nathan Thomas was handed his first start for Whitby, replacing Alfie Doherty.
The first half would start with Whitby looking like the most likely to score of the two sides as they pinned the home side in. Thomas would cut inside onto his left foot before flashing an effort just wide of the post.
Shane Bland would be called into action early as well with the Blues’ shot stopper denying Kitt Nelson with a big save after the Workington midfielder was played in on goal.
Jacob Gratton would show off his trickery as he glided past opposition full-back, Greg McCaragher, leading to a decent effort that forced Jim Atkinson into action as he pushed to ball out of the danger zone.
Straight after the interval, Jerome Greaves was played in on goal as he chipped the ball over the Workington 'keeper, leading to Sam Smith hooking the ball off the line in a last-ditch attempt to keep his side level.
Workington left-back Smith was then sent for an early shower as he was shown a second yellow card for grabbing Stephen Walker’s shirt, stopping the striker from getting in on goal. Whitby would look to capitalise on the numerical advantage by bringing Alfie Doherty on for Jamie Bramwell.
However, Bland was the man who ensure that the score remained level late on as he produced some heroics between the sticks to deny David Symington who saw his effort denied by a fantastic save.
