A fully fit starting eleven and substitutes' bench raised hopes of a return to winning ways for the Seasiders, who created the best of the first half opportunities.
But they couldn't quite manage to break down a resolute Stockton side, who themselves had moments throughout the game, in what was ultimately a stalemate between two well-matched sides.
Whitby started brightly and dictated most of the play in the first half. Layton Watts took up a wide berth, and his industry helped create space for a few openings early on. It was Watts himself who registered the first shot of the game but he couldn't keep the ball on target when he struck for goal from distance 15 minutes in.
Their clearest opportunity arrived on the 40 minutes into the contest when Watts - a player struggling in front of goal - was afforded space at the back post after being picked out by Sam Collins. Nathan Harker, who should have been troubled, saw the ball gratefully nestle in the side netting.
Stockton responded through Joshua Scott who snuck in behind and had Whitby concerned when Shane Bland was caught out of his goal, but Alex Nelson stood firm to block the hosts' forwards' low attempt.
Whitby's big moment of the second half came after a spell of pushing following the restart. Watts' low ball across goal for Michael Woods came in at an awkward height and, faced with the goal at his mercy, the experienced midfielder ballooned the ball over the crossbar meaning Gary Liddle's side still couldn't get themselves an advantage in the encounter.
The hosts looked somewhat reinvigorated by the hour and the lively Kevin Hayes carved out a chance for himself. The talented wideman was able to find a teammate in a yellow shirt so opted to have a go himself, however the best he could muster was a scuffed drive off target.
After attempts from Hayes and Jamie Bramwell, Liddle's man looked to take charge of the game towards the end, but the best they could manage was Aaron Haswell's low drive in stoppage time which deflected wide of goal.
Ultimately, they could not force a winner in the Seasiders' final away fixture of 2025 ended in stalemate.
