Whitby Town made it a fourth straight BetVictor Northern Premier win as they ran out 2-0 winners in Derbyshire against Matlock Town.
The game was subject to a pitch inspection but this was passed in the morning and as much as the surface was wet, it was certainly more than playable.
And the Blues showed this as they played some good football, whilst also having to weather something of a storm in the second half.
Matlock came close early on as a cross was played in and Shane Bland was beaten but the post came to his rescue.
However the Seasiders took the lead on 22 minutes when Alex White headed home from a corner which was swung in from the right by Evan Horwood.
The Gladiators did come out strongly in the second half and made Whitby work for their clean sheet but Chris Hardy's side did well to prevent their opponents from breaking through.
They then made sure of the three points with eight minutes of normal time to go when Bradley Fewster, back from injury, tapped home a ball across the box for Adam Gell to secure another three points.
Whitby are set to be back in action on Tuesday night with a testing trip to the Giant Axe to take on Lancaster City.
