Your match report from Whitby Town's 1-1 draw against Mickleover Sports

A fiery encounter took place at the Towbar Express Stadium at the Turnbull Ground on Tuesday night, and the spoils were shared after a 1-1 draw with Mickleover Sports.

This was a second game in a row in which the Blues have finished with the same scoreline, however the result also means that they have gone seven unbeaten in the BetVictor Northern Premier.

Andre Bennett was brought into the line-up to make his debut after joining earlier in the day on dual-registration terms with Whitley Bay, whilst Jake Hackett returned to the club on loan from Sunderland and he also came straight into the starting 11.

Aman Verma gave Sports the lead after 12 minutes when Stuart Beavon had time and space inside the Whitby area before laying the ball off to Verma who fired home into he bottom corner from distance.

The Seasiders were poor in the first half but showed signs of improvement after what would surely have been a strong half-time team talk from Chris Hardy.

They were level on 59 minutes as a Hackett corner from the right was met by the towering Daniel Rowe who headed into the back of the net at the back post.

The match turned sour with five minutes of normal time to go as substitute Bradley Mills was shown a straight red card following a tackle and altercation with Greg Young who was also dismissed.

Eventually Samuel Packer made the peace as he brought the game to an end and Town will be looking for a return to winning ways against Stafford Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
