A freakish first half opener from Liam Brockbank set the tone for the remainder of the game.
Second half strikes from Charlie Bailey and Robert Wilson just added to the Seasiders’ sorrows.
The Dolly Blues started on the front foot and as much as Brockbank’s goal was a fluke, the goal was nothing less than the visitors deserved.
Whitby were fortunate not to have found themselves further behind at the break, but the one goal deficit gave them a chance to regroup for the second 45 minutes.
But within minutes, their uphill battle became even harder to pull back after Bailey’s well taken goal left them chasing the game.
Town had a penalty shout when Jameel Ible went down in the box, whilst at the other end Lancaster were given one after a challenge from Jonathan Burn.
Wilson stepped up and fired his spot-kick into the roof of Shane Bland’s net.
