Whitby Town progressed to the second round of the Buildbase FA Trophy with a 5-0 victory against Mossley on Saturday afternoon.
Town went into half-time two goals to the good thanks to strikes from Jacob Hazel and Bradley Fewster.
And the second half was one-way traffic as a Priestley Griffiths added a third in stunning fashion, before Hazel added to his tally to complete a hat-trick.
Lee Bullock and Nathan Haslam were forced into one change for the side which defeated FC United of Manchester 1-0 in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division as Coleby Shepherd replaced the cup-tied Soni Fergus.
In the 30th minute, Whitby led through Hazel's cross-cum-shot which found the net following a corner. The striker did admit after the game that he didn't intend for the ball to end up where it did.
The Seasiders doubled their lead in the 34th minute as Fewster latched onto Shepherd's through ball to fire past Jordan Hadlow in the visitors' goal.
In the second half, Jack Banister and Harry Pratt both had good chances in quick succession for the away side, only to squander their opportunities.
But Whitby began to look dangerous on the front foot again, with Hazel seeing his curling effort gathered by Hadlow as his side went in search of the goal that would all but kill the game off.
Whitby did extend their lead in the 71st minute as Griffiths netted his second goal in three matches in wonderful fashion. After Josh MacDonald had broken down the wing and saw his effort cleared, the ball fell to the midfielder who curled into the corner of Hadlow's goal from around 30 yards out.
If this wasn't bad enough for Mossley, they were dealt a further blow two minutes later when Hazel got his second of the afternoon. After Harry Green saw his effort blocked, Hazel was on hand to fire into the bottom corner from close range.
Whitby then won a penalty nine minutes later as Marcus Giles's run into the area was halted by Mossley leg. There was no doubt about who was taking the spot-kick, and Hazel dispatched it emphatically to round off a comfortable afternoon for the Blues.
Mossley's afternoon was summed up with one minute of normal time remaining as Mason Fawns sliced an effort horribly wide of Shane Bland's post when well-placed to call the Town keeper into action.
