Whitby Town head to Nethermoor Park on Saturday afternoon with the aim of progressing into the First Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy for the second season running.
At the Third Round Qualifying stage of the competition last season, the Seasiders edged past 10-man Shildon thanks to a first-half Jacob Hazel strike. They would then go on to knock Mossley out at home with an emphatic 5-0 victory, before going out in disappointing style against Nantwich Town in the Second Round Proper.
Saturday's meeting will already be the second at Nethermoor Park this season, with the two sides locking horns in the league back in August. On that occasion, it was the Lions who ran out 2-1 winners thanks to first-half strikes from Spencer Harris and Jake Cassidy which left Whitby with a mountain to climb. But to their credit, their second half was spirited, albeit without reward as Daniel Rowe's overhead kick turned out to be mere consolation.
Town come into the game on the back of going three games unbeaten. Having finally gained their first league win of the season at Nantwich Town almost two weeks ago, Whitby took a point on the road at Radcliffe before tasting victory again on Tuesday night at Ashton United.
Guiseley, on the other hand, are three games without a win. Held at home to Warrington Rylands last Saturday, they also recorded the same 1-1 scoreline on the road at Gainsborough Trinity, and suffered defeat away at Hyde United prior to that.
