Nelson is an influential presence at the back and signed for the Seasiders following a strong 2024/25 season with Newton Aycliffe. He picked up the Supporters' Player of the Season Award for 2024/25 whilst with the Northern Premier League Division One East outfit.

A leader and pacey defender, Nelson became Town's third summer arrival in 2025.

He has primarily featured in the Northern League with Guisborough Town, but after an impressive first campaign in the Northern Premier League system, Nelson stepped up again ahead of the 2025/26 season.
