Alex Nelson is a commanding centre-back for Whitby Town, bringing strength, presence and defensive leadership to the Seasiders’ back-line. The robust defender joined the club in the summer of 2026, signing from Newton Aycliffe where he had been a standout performer in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

Comfortable in one-on-one situations and strong in the air, Alex has quickly adapted to the step up in competition, using his physicality and reading of the game to organise and bolster the centre of defence. His commitment and attitude in training have earned praise from teammates and supporters alike.
