One of the tallest players in the Northern Premier League, Simpson joined Whitby Town from Marske United in November 2022.

A natural striker who is equally effective in the air as he is with the ball on the ground, came through the ranks at Hartlepool United before joining EFL side Preston North End.

Simpson also enjoyed time in the Republic of Ireland with Cork City, and had loan spells at Carlisle United and Accrington Stanley.

A couple of other temporary stints with Lancaster City and Hyde United set Simpson up to become a handful in the Northern Premier League.
