Biography
German midfielder Elias Lenz joined Whitby Town on deadline day, on loan from Sunderland until the end of the 2025/26 season.A technically gifted and composed defensive midfielder, Lenz impressed within Sunderland’s under‑21 setup with his work rate, tactical awareness and consistency. The young midfielder is equally comfortable in central midfield or as a deeper‑lying playmaker, bringing physical presence and intelligent ball progression to the heart of the team.
Before moving to England, Lenz developed through the renowned RB Leipzig Academy, where he honed his technical skills and understanding of the game in a highly competitive youth environment.
The loan to Whitby Town represents an exciting opportunity for Elias to gain valuable First Team experience in senior football as he continues his development.
