Biography
Shane Bland is a hugely experienced and highly respected goalkeeper for Whitby Town, known for his consistency, leadership and dedication to the Seasiders. A former Middlesbrough Academy shot-stopper, Shane first joined Whitby Town in 2013 and, after spells with Spennymoor Town and West Auckland Town, returned in 2019 to become a mainstay between the posts at the Towbar Express Stadium.Over the years he has amassed more than 450 appearances for the club and, in November 2025, officially became Whitby Town’s all-time leading appearance maker, a remarkable milestone in his long and proud association with the Seasiders.
Bland’s commanding presence, shot-stopping quality and ability to organise his defence make him a vital figure in the squad. Off the pitch, he is a true ambassador for the club and a favourite with supporters.
