Michael Woods is one of Whitby Town’s most experienced and influential midfielders, bringing quality, leadership and a wealth of professional experience to the heart of the Seasiders’ engine room.The York‑born midfielder began his career in the youth ranks at Leeds United and Chelsea, later developing into a seasoned campaigner with clubs including Hartlepool United, Harrogate Town, Dover Athletic, York City and South Shields before joining Whitby Town in February 2025.
A dependable presence in central midfield, Woods combines intelligent passing, positional awareness and a strong understanding of the game to influence matches both defensively and going forward.
He made an instant impact on his Whitby debut by scoring a crucial late winner at Leek Town and has continued to contribute goals and leadership across the season.
