Biography
Joey is an exciting and versatile young talent who joined Whitby Town after impressing during a successful trial period with the Seasiders. Born in Zimbabwe and capable of operating in a variety of wide and defensive roles, Phuthi brings pace, energy and technical quality to the squad.A product of Sheffield Wednesday’s academy, Joey progressed through the ranks at Hillsborough before signing his first professional contract in 2023. During his time with the Owls, he earned first-team experience and made his senior debut in the Championship, while also showcasing his ability in academy football.
The Zimbabwe international has continued his development through senior football, gaining valuable experience and demonstrating his adaptability in different positions. Comfortable on either flank and eager to attack defenders, he adds athleticism and creativity to Whitby Town’s options.
