Dan joined Whitby Town on loan from Middlesbrough in September 2026, adding youthful energy and quality to the Seasiders’ midfield. Born in Newcastle, the talented midfielder has been part of Middlesbrough’s academy since Under-13 level, progressing steadily through the club’s highly regarded youth system. His development has also been recognised on the international stage through involvement with England youth camps.

A composed and hardworking central midfielder, James enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 campaign with Middlesbrough’s Under-18s, making more than 25 appearances before stepping up to Premier League 2 football. His continued progress earned him a first professional contract ahead of the 2024/25 season, during which he featured regularly in Premier League North and gained further experience with Boro’s Under-21s.

Now at the Towbar Express Stadium, James takes his first steps into senior football and will look to make a positive impact during his spell with the Seasiders.
