Sam is an experienced central midfielder who joined Whitby Town after building an impressive reputation across the Northern Premier League and Northern Counties East League. A composed and intelligent operator in the middle of the park, Kay combines excellent positional awareness with a strong work ethic, bringing balance, leadership and consistency to the Seasiders’ midfield.

Born in Doncaster, Kay began his senior career with Retford United before enjoying spells with Rossington Main and Goole. He went on to spend five successful seasons with Staveley Miners Welfare, establishing himself as one of the most dependable midfielders at Step 5 level, before moving to Tadcaster Albion and later Cleethorpes Town.

Known for his ability to break up play, retain possession and dictate the tempo of matches, Kay adds valuable experience and know-how to the Whitby Town squad.
